All About Sugaring
What is sugaring?
Sugaring is an ancient Middle Eastern technique for natural hair removal. Sugaring involves a sugar paste made of sugar, lemon juice, and water. Your aesthetician will smooth the paste onto your skin in the opposite direction of hair growth and let it sit as it cools and hardens slightly before pulling it off.
Sugaring is great for sensitive skin!
The sugar paste used for sugaring hair removal treatments does contain any chemicals, fragrance, or colouring, so it is very gentle on sensitive skin. Sugar paste is applied at body-temperature, which eliminates the risk of heat irritation for sensitive skin.
Sugaring is not the same as waxing!
Unlike wax, sugar paste does not harden completely, which helps to prevent hair breakage. While waxing works great for some people, some hair types are more likely to break at the surface instead of being pulled out with waxing. For individuals whose hair is prone to breakage with waxing, sugaring helps to ensure that hair grows back slower and softer.
