All About Electrolysis

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis was invented more than 100 years ago to remove irritating, ingrown eyelash hairs. Today, electrolysis is the only medically-approved method of permanent hair removal and can be performed on most areas of the body. It can also be used to remove skin anomalies such as skin tags, cherry anomalies, and milia, and to correct visible facial capillaries and traumatized pores.

How does electrolysis hair removal work?

Electrolysis involves a very fine electrode probe inserted into the hair follicle, which applies an electric current. The current destroys the growth centre of the hair, and the hair is then removed using tweezers.

How many sessions are required?

The number of electrolysis sessions required to achieve desired results varies depending on the individual and the region/issue being treated. For hair removal, the number of treatments required can also vary depending on the amount and thickness of hair being removed.
